Dear Ethernut Customer,

we have to inform you, that we recently discovered a production problem of
Ethernut Version 2.1 Rev-B. It is known as black pad defect and not directly
visible. We created a webpage, where you'll find more information about this
issue.

http://www.ethernut.de/en/black-pad/index.html

Until now, we didn't receive any failure report from a customer. On the
other hand we are not able to guarantee, that the boards will continue
working reliable.

Customers who already received an Ethernut 2.1B may contact us or the
reseller for a replacement or a refund. However, it may take at least
two weeks until a new production will become available.

Customers, who ordered boards and are waiting for delivery, may
either wait for the new production, cancel their order or accept the
boards with possibly lower quality, which may be sufficient for lab use
and software development. Of course we will still replace these boards
in case of later defects. Please let us know your decision.

Kind regards,

Harald Kipp
General Manager, egnite Software GmbH
