Hi Pat,

I concern about 2 point.

first:
  Pat> stk500 -dATmega128 -e -pf -vf -ifbasemon.hex
              ^^^^^^^^^^^
I'm using "-dpart=" to specify devices, such as "-dpart=atmega128"
You can use "dpart=auto", may be.

And, you may need to try uisp command independently, with same option in makefile.
uisp will bring up error message by doing this.

second:
Pat> 3.3 under Windows XP Pro.

I found a document named "HOWTO.windows" in uisp-20021201.tar.gz.
This doco is described about using under Win NT/2k. Have you read it?

I think that the pararell port should be accessed correctly from cygwin,
fora start.

However, I have heard that there are another problems between Win XP and Cygwin.

Perhaps, cygwin-users group may help you.

HTH!
