No problem, but I fear it's too late for 3.4.1. We already
spend two days on the tests and just finished the Windows
installation. Linux installation is being build right now.

Your patches make sense to me, but I needed some time to
get into the code again. Sigh, this PPP stuff is really
weird.

I'll add your changes to HEAD and, after some additional
connection tests, to 3.4.2.
