Joe,
I'd do it the same way. devDebug is the most simple one and
makes a good template.
Yes, you should be able to re-assign stdout.
Please check the remaining heap space (NutHeapAvailable).
From experience Nut/OS devices work fine when opened and
used, but sometimes do not release all resources when closed.
