I need a firmware update function on a Charon II so I flashed the
precompiled eboot image together with the remaining software.
It starts fine with the application software:
Nov 4 13:13:47 cicely6 dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for 10.1.1.243 from 00:0a:59:03:00:87 via de0
Nov 4 13:13:47 cicely6 dhcpd: DHCPACK on 10.1.1.243 to 00:0a:59:03:00:87 via de0
Now I trigger an update via HTTP.
eboot then asks for an IP:
Nov 4 13:14:10 cicely6 dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:06:98:00:00:00 via de0
Nov 4 13:14:10 cicely6 dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on 10.1.1.2 to 00:06:98:00:00:00 via de0
Nov 4 13:14:11 cicely6 dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:06:98:00:00:00 via de0

Finally it gives up and falls back to the already existing application

[110]cicely6# tcpdump -n ether host 00:06:98:00:00:00

It seems that the system doesn't like the DHCPOFFER packet.
But whats wrong with it - I netboot lots of machines with that DHCP
server.
My dhcpd.conf contains:
host nutdate {
hardware ethernet 00:06:98:00:00:00;
fixed-address 10.1.1.2;
filename "nutdate";
next-server 10.1.1.14;
}
Additional there are the usual global options set, such as DNS, ...
