[En-Nut-Discussion] Running out of timer/counters

Hi,

I'm planning to use the ethernut as a controller for two DC-motors.
There is no problem making two PWM-signals with the free timers. The
problem is to count motor ticks (3/rev). The Ideal would be to have two
more free counters with external clock source. An Idea is to use interrupts
with a function just counting up an integer. What do you think about this?
The Frequency of the revolution ticks is maximum 100Hz per motor. All ideas
are welcome!
I use Ethernut 2.1
