Hi Hans,

I had the same problem (with the same message) the first time i tried to
configure the environment. Neither changing the registry entries for icc nor
running "make" from the console worked ok. Because we are in a public
mailing list I can only give you some clues to fix the problem:

* Uninstall icc and all the components (including icc-tiny )
* Run some utility to check windows (like Norton windoctor): it will clean
the unused registry entries.
* Reboot and install again ICC. Note: DO NOT USE ANY CRACK BASED ON PREVIOUS
SAVED LICENCES (in fact, you MUST buy a licence from imagecraft), because it
will unregister your command line compiler.
* Run again the "configure development environment"

I hope this helps,

Eduardo

Hi,

which ICCAVR version are you using?

I'll have to contact ImageCraft about this.

But another thing catches me: basemon.o? Did you
accidently create a sample directory with the same
path as the build tree?

For ICCAVR there is no need to create a sample
directory. Please have a look at
http://www.ethernut.de/en/iccavr/index.html

Mhhh....

We got an MkII here, but not sure about the adapter.

If it's mirrored, it will produce a shortcut on the
supply line. Carefully using a lab supply with adjustable
current limiting should be helpful.

Worst case results:

Hello,

We have used the IL-485 with great success

http://www.nve.com/isindex.php

You can get them from Digikey here in the states.

Cheers

Harald,
Yes, I got desperate, the instructions looked so simple, I'll delete it.
Thanks, Hans

Hello Mike,

nice, with integrated isolators. Unfortunately more pins,
but worth to consider for newer designs.

To top this, a setable skew would be cool. :-)

Is it possible to use SPI Flash Devices to program external SPI EEPROMS?

Hello,

sorry, I need urgent help. I'm using CVS head as development base for a
project I have to finish today... I updated my source tree to the
current CVS version and tried to recompile NutOS.

The make process stops with the following error:

timer.c:104:20: cfg/os.h: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
make[1]: *** [timer.o] Fehler 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/ole/work/avr/ethernut/nut/os'
make: *** [all] Fehler 2

I always used my manual configuration until now... Thought I should
perhaps try nutconf... It also would not compile (little problem with
the makefile, I could fix)... But first I'm sorry, I don't understand
how to generate the header files with nutconf and second it did not work
either... :-(

Any help to get my NutOS compiling again would be realy appreciated.

best regards,

Ole Reinhardt

Hi,

could anyone give me a hint how to enable hardware handshake? (RTS /
CTS) I've just defined the parameters in include/cfg/modem.h, but no
succes so far...

Hello Hans,

if you have only a demo version of the ICCAVR,
you can not use the command line mode.

You need a license to work with it. But it is possible
that Harald get more information from ImageCraft.

Michael

Hi Ole,

scrap your old version, get 3.9.1 and use the Configurator.
OK, OK. Just looking for somebody to try it out. :-)

Seriously, the code itself had been tested by me some
time ago and both, RTS/CTS as well as XON/XOFF had been
working. But not sure, wether the Configurator settings
will be correct.

In any case you need to set up your hardware. For
Ethernut 2, the new hardware manual at
http://www.ethernut.de/en/enut20/index.html
will be helpful. Although related to 2.1, the
RS232 jumper hadn't changed since 2.0.

Ole,

sorry about the problem with CVS. Indeed cfg/os.h hasn't
been checked in. I probably overlooked a few diff lines.

For Win32, a ready compiled nutconf is in tools/win32.
The same is true for the Linux bin RPM, where it's located
in tools/linux.

There is not much to know about header file creation.
Please follow
http://www.ethernut.de/en/nutconf/index.html

When you correctly edited the four NutConf Setting Dialogs,
the remaining headers will be added to the build tree.
Btw. cfg/os.h is actually empty here. Looking to the
Lua scripts, it's currently used for the clock frequency
entry.

I expected some problems with all these changes. There had
been too many things to change and to test. But I can
convince you, that there will be minor problems only.
We will be back to the almost stable HEAD in short time.

To all other developers: Don't give up! Don't get angry!
Just take it as it is and report your specific problem
like Ole did. (Although I can hear a low level of
frustration from Ole too, can't I? :-))

I'm currently trying to solve a completely different problem
(why does an NT service using winpcap stops on user logout?)
but some time is left to prepare a new Nut/OS software manual.
So you are quite safe now, no more basic changes until I start
to get Nut/OS emulation on Linux running.

Btw. if you want to add some changes, feel free to do so.
There are a few more days required until the 4.0 branch.

The 3.9.1 preview release was required to get Ethernut 1.3
Rev-G running. Simple commercial pressure.
