[En-Nut-Discussion] NEWBIE : How to write to the EEPROM

Hello,
im quite new to programming with erthernut. What i want is to write some 
Configuration Data that should be still present, even if the power 
source is turned off. So i thought about the EEPROM but i can't find any 
documents, that is related to this.
Can anyone give me a hint ?? (or an alterntive ??)
