Hi!

Are you referring to the message thread at
http://www.egnite.de/pipermail/en-nut-discussion/2006-January/005735.html ?
This is about code size(s)

The optimization level setting when compiling will have an effect on code
size, too.

For me the question would be if a gain of 10%-20% justifies switching the
compiler or if this gain can be achieved differently. (Except you have other
reasons to look for a different compiler, too)

regards
ernst

Betreff: [En-Nut-Discussion] Code space or AVR / ARM 32 / ARM thumb

i know somel people doing compare on compiler generating code size, like
http://www.usbdip.de/en/ethernut2294/index.html
and some info on mailling list at jan

i just want people to confirm that if i change the compiler i can get 10-20%
smaller code size ?
anyway i using winavr at this moment,

also, if migrate to ARM/Thumb from avr, will my code size gain ?
i know this is case to case, but anyone can give a brief info on your case ?
