Hi Elan!
I have attached a message on the same subject from a afew weeks ago.
Regarding 8k RAM: I could imagine that this may be sufficient, but I cannot
prove this. But it will still be limiting.
I have not looked for other HW for a while, so I dont know about 1281
boards.

Actually, how about the (pin-compatible) ATmega 1281, with 8KB of SRAM?
Would that be enough?
