[En-Nut-Discussion] can't ping Ethernut board

Hi, Sim,

I do set up my PC with static IP address:

IP: 192.168.0.73
mask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.1

But when I typed "ipconfig", it still shows "Media disconnected".

Any idea?

Mike

Hi Mike,

If I am not wrong, you probably did not set your PC with a static IP
address
which has an address like 192.168.0.xxx.

I connect the board directly to the PC.

Is it possible that I have a bad network cable ? I assume not, because
I got following message:

>
> MAC 00-06-98-01-0B-69
> IP 192.168.0.73
> Mask 255.255.255.0

Hi Mike!

"Media disconnected" means there is no connection to the (LAN) media
(i..e.
cable)
How does the "network" look like? Do you use a hub or switch or router
or is
the ethernut directly connected to the PC?

regards
Ernst

When I entered "ipconfig" in my PC's DOS window, the screen showed:

"Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

       Media State ....................: Media disconnected

"

How can I check that my PC is in the same network as the ethernut ?

Thanks.

Mike
