[En-Nut-Discussion] Pictures load very slow

Hello,

I built an application which draws some thermometer displays on a webpage.
It does this using a few small an constant GIFs.

As the application grow, it becomes slower and slower. The page needs up to
5 sec to load, sometimes there are even some of the gifs missing.
Is there any idea what causes this slowdown and how to fix it?

Since the gifs are constant, it is not necessary for the browser to load
them everytime. How can I say to the browser that it should cache the
pictures but not the page itself?

Is it possible to first load the pictures and then draw the page, to skip
that flickering during page load?

If you want to see what I mean you can access the Ethernut on

Skip the X, they are for fooling robots and spammers only.

Thank you
bye
Thorsten
