It looks like Rowley uses an older version of GCC for the ARM than is 
otherwise available.

It is not so clear that the Rowley AVR compiler is GCC.  If it were, 
wouldn't they be required to offer the source?  I don't see the AVR or 
MSP430 source available on their web site.

Ahhh, I see, WinAVR is not from Rowley... nevermind!
