No, but I did locate a set of earlier install files. Wound it back to 
WinAVR-20050214-install.exe with avr-libc-bin-1.4.0 and problem went away.

Stack size was always tight due to the silicon bug in the CAN128 requiring the 
stack to reside in the CPU SRAM.

Problem averted, time to snag a few zzz's before resuming hostilities.

I'll see if Henrik has seen the issue before. Might require a rebuild of the 
XNut libs to run with the new WinAvr package.
