the most popular graphical displays tend use a ks0108 controller , so you 
need to make sure which controller your lcd uses first
pascal stang has a driver for the ks0108 in his procyon avrlib distribution 
, so that could be a starting point
their is no relationship between a hd44780 controller and a ks0108 , they 
are totaly different in the way they work
