   The 'R' in RMII I believe is for 'Reduced' not Reverse.  The Reverse 
MII is a special option for some ethernet switches that allow one of 
their ports to be connected to a MAC instead of a PHY.  The other ports 
on the switch usually are designed to connect to magnetics.
