Hello!

Have you tried to find any correspondence between the characters you give to
printf and the characters which appear on the screen.
If you know the codepage (or character set) in which the terminal program
works, you should be able to predict the output if you assume that bit 7 is
stripped off.

I used fputs_P to print german Umlaut characters some time ago to and that
worked (and their code is > 128). Hava a look how this works in your
environment...
