Yes, and I'm the bad guy who is standing in the way. ;-)
Sorry Tim, I read your email, but had been too busy to respond
immediately. I'll take the chance here, as it may be of general interest.
In the past I often received full source trees, which did not even
reflect the latest CVS HEAD. It may then take many hours to synchronize
it with the current status. Last not least I ended up with a broken
build or I introduced new bugs.
One way to go is to add patches to the tracker at sourceforge. However,
if the diffs show changes beyond what they are intended for, it doesn't
really help. Typically if they include reformatting of existing code, it
is very very difficult to keep track. Further it is recommended to split
large diffs. Otherwise the source code maintainers may be to frightened
to apply them.
If you are familiar with CVS, I will be happy grant CVS write access. In
the past we handled this quite relaxed and so far had no bad experience.
Of course we are all humans and if you accidentally kill the repository,
it can be repaired.
I understand, that some people refuse to deal with diff/patch or CVS. In
that case the modifications are still welcome, even sent as a full
source tree. In that case it may take some time.
Hope this doesn't deter anyone from contributing all the hidden Nut/OS
treasures on their hard disks.
Harald
