Hi,

I'm looking into porting NutOS to AVR32 UC3A. More specifically,
the ATEVK1100 [1] initially. So, we could all have a reference
schematic and board to develop and test.
The company I work for is interested in supporting this project in
any reasonable way it can.
We had a meeting with Atmel representatives to look for their
support on this project. We are not sure at this moment how they would
help, but they seam interested. At very least It seams we will be able
to get a borrowed kit from our distributor. Probably egnite could have
the same if they wish.
One other option might be to provide our own prototypes to
interested developers. We are a small company, and can't afford giving
away hardware to everyone, but if it really turns back to the comunity
with contributions, perhaps it can be arranged.

We have FreeRTOS as reference. Even thought it is (L)GPL, if you
look at the code, all of Atmel's contributions to FreeRTOS were BSD
Licensed. Also, there is Atmel's Software Framework (see [1]) which is
BSD as well.
We could either rewrite drivers present in the Software Framework
or create wrappers around them.

Well, I'm hoping for feedback and help for really getting this going.
