I can follow your view. In fact we have a large number of customers, who 
successfully upgraded from Ethernut 1 to 2 and even 3. Many of them 
appreciated, that we kept the initial geometry and connector locations.

Anyway, I doubt, that there will ever be any Ethernut 6. Some years ago 
there had been some discussion here about a different board layout and I 
think it is time to change. However, when done with Version 5, I'll be 
fed up with hardware design for some time. ;-)
