Just to give some (moral) support here :-). I think the UNIX emulation 
would be really useful. A while ago I tried to get it working myself 
with no success (due to my lack of knowledge and time to improve it). We 
would be using it mainly for debugging purposes. Perhaps we could help 
with the testing.
