Whatever you do, please keep in mind that some of us use multiple network
interfaces on one board.
Simply killing all sockets when the cable has been pulled is likely to cause
me problems.
Publishing the state of the connections through some API is probably a good
idea, and setting up a
socket option to register an alternate behavior for what should happen if
it's first hop path has gone
down would be nice (since TCP sockets have a local IP assigned to them which
ties them to a particular
device to some degree), but every TCP socket would have to be tested for
applicability.
