Oops... too late I recognized, that the svn conflict appeared because
you already patched it. Your line looked almost similar to the old one.
Anyway, I still think that it is incomplete, because
(sock->so_retran_time & ~1) may still become an int. My version looks
more reliable to me.

Just one thing makes me uncertain: Is the masking of bit 0 still required?

Not sure yet. Beside my problem above you fixed the trunk, but not 4.8,
right?
