I'm not that familiar with the DM9000 series and even don't have the
schematics of the EIR at hand, but a short look to the datasheets shows,
that the DM9000A has a mich lower pin-count and uses a 16 bit data bus
instead of a 32 bit bus. So you might have to adapt the bus interface
and pin-usage for your board.
From the functional side they should be mostly compatible.
