[En-Nut-Discussion] STM32F SPI drivers and chip select

Hi STM32 Developers,

I am currently allocating the pins on a hardware to I/O and like to do a 
quick check regards the STM32F SPI drivers:

The driver seems to use "Software NSS mode". Am I correct that any GPIO 
pin can be used as chip select, not only the dedicated NSS pin. Would 
there be any (future) benefit to use the NSS pins in master mode?
