[En-Nut-Discussion] Cooked text mode for socket streams

I'm pretty sure that there is a setting in Putty for this.  Most serial
console emulators and telnet type programs, of which Putty is both,
have this setting because it's been a common issue since the 70s.  This
setting may even be per setting name (host) in Putty.
