[En-Nut-Discussion] STM32 License change: How to handle?

Hello,

as already mentioned, ST started to change the license of the basic device
headers from their own MCD to BSD. For F4, this happend with STM32CubeF4,
for F0/F1/L1 this happened in the mbed tree. In private mail BCO confirmed
that the mbed license changes are official.

However for F2 and F3 I fear that the license change will take some time,
sooner for F3 and perhaps never for F2. The license requirement is in many
device configuration items. How to cope with that situation when the BSD
F1/L1/F4 headers are applied?

I see two ways to handle:
1. "Provide" the required license in the L1/F1/F4 configuration items and
keep all the license "require(s)"ment in the device items

2. "Require(s)" the license in the F2/F3 configuration items and remove the
"require" from all the device items.

Hints and opions welcome.

Thanks
