Hi David,
I might have just the solution you're looking for.
For a start I do have a PPP driver for Nut/OS that works very well for my
application, it is however not a full implementation hence I have not
realeased it for incorporation into the main Nut/OS distribution. I don't
have the time at the moment to either do any more work on it to make it more
generic (since I don't need to) or to offer support to anybody who might
want to do so themselves.
That said I am happy to release it to you if you want it.
In fact from your message you might find that it suits you perfectly, you
mention that your application is GSM related and as it turns out the
limitation of my PPP driver is that it is only tested to work with certain
GSM/GPRS terminal devices.
If you are looking to use this with a GPRS terminal I suspect it will work
perfectly for you too.
I do also have the necessary modem scripting code to establish the modem
connection (autodialer).
Another alternative might be to look at the product into which we put all
this stuff called an UltraLite Intelligent Terminal.
This includes:-
Atmel Mega128
32k GSI SRAM
Crystal CS8900A-CQ3 Ethernet Interface (Coming soon)
Sony Ericsson GM47/8 GSM/GPRS phone module (Connected to Mega UART1)
RS-232 Port (Connected to Mega UART0)
GSM compatible Switching Regulator (5 - 35V Input)
60 Pin expansion connector
Appropriatly modifed Nut/OS source and example applications
Nice plastic case
All for about AU$500 for a single unit (including the phone module).
Regards,
Mike

Subject: [En-Nut-Discussion] PPP with ethernut & autodialer
firstly i have just come across ethernut today for the first time , so sorry
if this has been answered before
i am looking for ppp function if anyone can share or point me in the right
direction etc.
having just spent 3 months developing an application for GSM using the seiko
7600a chipset
and now being told it's withdrawn , has left me in deep furtilizer ! ( could
say a few other words too !)
Don Ingram pointed me to ethernut today and having spent the last few hours
reading,
i believe ethernut could solve my problems.
also looking if anyone has any code that can act as a autodialer.
looks as a complete new design is coming for this too using an atmega128
all thoughts & ideas welcome
Regards All
Dave
