The system timer uses it and will maintain a RTC in the future.
It is also used to provide automatic crystal frequency detection
for baudrate calculations.

When defining NUT_CPU_FREQ in Makedefs and recompiling Nut/OS, then the 32kHz
crystal is not required anymore. At least that's how it's designed. :-)
