Dear Forum Members,
I am a new Ethernut programmer and want to program my Ethernut 1.3 rev=d
using the serial port. I connected the board to the PC's COM1 and checked
the board with the given instructions in the hardware manual. Everything was
great and my board passed all the steps. However when I installed
icc-avr(which is not the demo version) and completed the instructions given
in the software manual, and tried to program the EEPROM from the InSystem
Programmer, ICCAVR(ver 6.31A) gave the error "Unable to detect STK500
device...". After this error, I installed the AVR Studio and entered the
path to STK500.exe (in the ISP Options). However, this also didn't solve my
"Unable to detect STK500 device..." problem. I read some of the document s
and FAQ's in the ethernut.de and found that ICCAVR(starting with v6.29) has
some problems while working on the serial port dongle. I just stucked at
this point. One of my friends said that he always uses the STK200/300 and
parallel port to program the board, however I should program it from the
serial (my prof. wants it that way.:( )
What should I do?
I appreciate your help and patience to my "basic" problems,
Thank you
Emre Atsan
