Hi!
To improve my debugging capabilities, I followed a recent advise and
upgraded WinAVR to 20040720 (which contains avr-gcc 3.4.1) to produce
dwarf-2 format .elf files.
I also installed AVRStudio 4.11 build 401 from the Atmel homepage.
After a brief test, I can say simulation of C code works, source code
debugging is OK, variables can be watched, breakpoints set. fine.
Then I connected the JTAG programmer from the Ethernut 2.1b dev kit to COM1
and clicked on Tools - Program AVR -
Connect. I selected "STK500 or AVRISP" and COM1. For a brief moment, the red
LED on the programmer went on, then off again.
AVRStudio reported "Connection failed".
Before installing ARVStudio 4.11/401 I had ARVStudio 4.05/181 running and
when I selected the JTAG programmer, it reported "HW 0x0e SW major 0x31 SW
minor 0x30". I did not try any debugging with this version.
Can anybody tell me what to do to make AVRStudio recognize the JTAG
programmer so I start debugging?
thanks a lot
ernst
