I only can talk for my decision, but I have not invented NutOS nor have
I done any Ethernut Board development. That's only in the hands of
egnite.
For me, I decided to use the ATMega128 because of it's easy and straight
forward AVR risc architecture, it's relative good computing power and
top most because it's wide availability and cheap price. I use in in
several boards where an ethernet controller is not needed. Next point
was the availability of free development tools and a large user base.
Most of these points are valid for arm too. What woul leed me to arm is
the very high computing power, 32 bit architecture and also very large
user base.
If you have more detailed questions please let me know.
Bye,
Ole Reinhardt
