[En-Nut-Discussion] MP3 Streaming Server with Ethernut V1.3G

Hi,

I want to build an MP3 streaming server based on an Ethernut 1.3G board. The
device should encode analog stereo audio signals to a ShoutCast MP3 streams
an send it to a streaming client. A hardware MP3 encoder/decoder chip
(MAS3587F) will be used to get the MP3 data.

I'm not sure, that ethernut 1.3 can handle the required data rate. If i
calculate with 128kbps, than ethernut has to send 16 KBytes per second plus
network overhead via TCP. Also the same amount of data must be read via a
8-bit parallel Input from Encoder.
Is this to much for ethernut/NutOS?

I've seen, that there is still a project for ethernut that do the "opposite"
thing. There are some hints to avoid unnecessary copying of data. Have
somebody similar hints for sending TCP data?

Thanks,
Steffen
