[En-Nut-Discussion] Running interrupt based USART

Hi,
 
Maybe this is a simple question .. but i'm stumped so please any
suggestions appreciated!
I am trying to receive characters via the USART device under interrupt,
i.e I require my thread
to be woken up when characters are received on the input buffer.
At the moment I am trying to using nutwaitevent and giving it the que of
the rx ringbuffer.
Is this the way it meant to be done?
