Luckily we, the developers, decide about time frames. Wish we could say
that about all our projects. ;-)

My main intention is, to get out all the goodies of 4.9 soon, specially
the basic AVR32 support, the more useful Lua interpreter etc.

Further, I made up my mind about wireless networks (pro 6LoWPAN) and now
want to have IPv6 implemented as soon as possible. And I got quite far
with the graphics library. Adding these to 4.9 would delay the next
stable release by several months. As an alternative, SVN branches could
be used, but I heard horror stories about merging such changes.

The current trunk compiles fine for all targets and the remaining bugs
plus a few new features (e.g. gratuitous ARP) could be done within a few
weeks.

For Linux and Mac OS, yes. Including Ole's autoconf into the Nut/OS
configuration may require some effort, while Ole's independent
configuration worked fine here.

For Windows it is no big deal to have both installed. I'll mark the Qt
version as a preview.
