No, not realy? AFAIK I had the board you got before, so there should be
running at least the U-Boot and perhaps also a full Linux system.

Please download our BSP from
http://www.embedded-it.de/ethernut/ethernut5linux.php 
and contact me if you like to have some support installing U-Boot /
Linux on the device.

Just used OpenOCD with the board without problem. The internal flash
might not yet be supported. The external flash is NAND flash. AFAIK NAND
flash is not directly supported by OpenOCD as well.

The easiest way is to load U-Boot via OpenOCD and run it from memory.

The correct boot strap procedure is described in the board support
package. In short words:

1. Flash AT91Bootstrap into the internal flash using SAM-BA
2. Flash U-Boot into the data flash
3. Flash The Linux Kernel into the data flash
4. Flash the root filesystem into the nand flash.

Which version of SAM-BA do you use? There are some issues with some
older versions.
