I advice you to download the latest AVR studio version from the Atmel web
site.
I experienced that they ship programmer with the latest firmware version but
not latest sw version!

Once you have downlaoaded the latest AVR Studio release install it and if
still compare the massage press "yes".
This will upgrade your programmer firmware with the correct version the sw
need. Don't worry, i made it several times and never had problems.
If you don't do this operation you will not able to correctly use your
programmer.
