[En-Nut-Discussion] Trouble with nutconf and 'nut' subdirectory + make question

Hi there.

I'm new to NutOs. I have an Ethernut 2.1b, avr-gcc-3.4.4, avr-libc-1.2.5
and I develop under Linux FC_3.

FYI: I just lost a lot of time because nowhere it is written that there
must be a symlink like

ln -s ethernut-3.9.8 nut

for 'nutconf' to work.

At the end of './configure', it is said that I can run './nutsetup'.
What is it used for? I would
have prefered to have a sentence about the 'nut' symlink.

Also I see that everytime I compile something, the '.elf' file is
removed. I'm used to check it
with avr-size or use avr-objdump to disassemble it, how one can have
make(1) not to
automagically remove the '.elf' files? (I found no 'rm' in Ethernut
Makefiles).

Thanks!!

 Bernard
