and don't forget to add how the LCD reacts:

Are there black lines or blocks as the display is booted or does it stay
transparent?
Are there (random) characters viewable or nothing.

Industrial, commercial or unknown source display ( ripped from some
scrap units, like mine where always from)

These details will be helpful to check wiring.
